Lake Churup

Churup Lake is one of the most popular around Huaraz and easily to do in one day. This trek route is harder than 69 lake and has some one tricky climbing part for beginning trekkers. It is recommended to leave early to take your time to rest if necessary because the air is quite thin which you will probably notice. If you have time and are prepared it is also recommended to camp one night at the lakeside.
To get there, we can take this car called ‘combi’ bus from Huaraz at 7:30am for 3 sols to drive up in 50 minutes to the village of Llupa. Then you will notice a trek route, it is very visible. One hour to get this place called Pitec and then 3 extra hours to get to the lagoon. A quiet difficult but it does worth. Also it’s better to arrange a private taxi car, which we can provide if you need it.
