The Huayhuash Mountain Range is considered one of the most impressive trekking circuits in Peru and the world, thanks to its monumental snow-capped peaks, turquoise lagoons, and high-mountain landscapes that look straight out of a postcard. This classic 10–12-day circuit is a unique experience for adventure lovers, ideal for those seeking a physical challenge combined with unforgettable natural scenery.

The journey begins with the transfer from Huaraz toward the starting point of the trek and continues through spectacular Andean valleys, local communities, and numerous mountain passes above 4,600 m a.s.l., with breathtaking panoramic views of iconic peaks such as Rondoy, Ninashanca, Jirishanca, Yerupajá Chico, Yerupajá, Cuyoc, Diablo Mudo, Rasac and Sacra.

During the journey, you will also visit lagoons of incomparable beauty such as Mitucocha, Carhuacocha, Atoqsayco, Viconga and Jahuacocha, as well as many other natural corners that turn this route into a true dream for photography and connecting with nature. You will also get to know the famous mountain Siulá Grande, setting of the renowned story “Touching the Void”.

A challenging trek that is fully rewarding, recommended for travelers in good physical condition who want to experience one of the best high-mountain adventures in South America.

  • Day 1: Transfer from Huaraz to Llamac (Chiquián). Acclimatization hike and campsite.
  • Day 2: Hike to the first valley and camp near a lagoon (Mitucocha or similar).
  • Day 3: Mountain pass crossing and arrival at the area of Carhuacocha (one of the most scenic campsites).
  • Day 4: Hike to nearby viewpoints and lagoons (Atoqsayco / Siulá) and camp.
  • Day 5: High mountain pass crossing toward the area of Huayhuash and campsite.
  • Day 6: Hike to the hot springs of Viconga (optional) and campsite.
  • Day 7: High mountain pass crossing and campsite.
  • Day 8: Crossing of the Paso Cuyoc (one of the highest) and descent to the campsite.
  • Day 9: Hike toward Jahuacocha (iconic lagoon with views of Yerupajá).
  • Day 10: Return to Llamac and transfer back to Huaraz.
  • Days 11–12 (optional): Extension of the circuit with alternative routes, viewpoints, and additional campsites depending on the selected program.
  • Tourist transportation from Huaraz to the trekking starting point and back to Huaraz
