Chavín de Huántar is one of the most important archaeological complexes in Peru and World Heritage Site. On this tour, we travel from Huaraz toward the Callejón de Conchucos, crossing the impressive Cordillera Blanca and the Cahuish Tunnel, until reaching the historic ceremonial temple of the Chavín culture.

During the visit, you will explore its plazas, underground galleries, and stone structures, where the famous Lanzón Monolítico and its enigmatic reliefs. You will also be able to visit the Chavín National Museum, which preserves original pieces such as the stone heads and ceremonial ceramics.

A must-see cultural and photographic experience to discover the origins of Andean civilization and enjoy unique landscapes along the way.

  • 08:00 – 08:30 a.m. Hotel pickup (Huaraz) and departure to Chavín de Huántar
  • 09:30 a.m. Stop at scenic viewpoints of the Cordillera Blanca and ascent toward the Cahuish Tunnel
  • 10:30 a.m. Crossing the Cahuish Tunnel (4,516 m a.s.l.) and descent to Callejón de Conchucos
  • 12:00 p.m. Approximate arrival in Chavín de Huántar and visit to Chavín National Museum (subject to schedule)
  • 01:00 p.mGuided visit to the Chavín Archaeological Complex: ceremonial plazas, galleries, and main temple
  • 02:30 p.m. Free time for photos and exploration (designated area)
  • 03:00 p.m. Free lunch at a tourist restaurant (optional)
